UAE: Dubai's new budget airline, "flydubai"



In UAE, there are five airlines, i.e., Emirates, Etihad, Air Arabia, Fly Dubai and RAK Airways, where two of them are budget airlines. "flydubai" is the latest addition. Fly Dubai operates from Dubai while Air Arabia from Sharjah.
One can book on the website for up to 9 passengers per booking.  A child over two years occupying a seat pays the regular fare. Additionally, one infant (14 days to 1 year old) can be booked per adult passenger. 
You are able to cancel your booking on the website if the booking was originally made online or through flydubai's call centre.

Once you have booked online or through the call centre, you can pay using your Visa or MasterCard. But The credit card used to purchase the booking online will be required for verification at check-in time.  If you want to pay using cash, flydubai will hold your reservation for up to 24 hours so that you can make your payment through one of flydubai's payment partners. If you book less than 48 hours prior to departure, payment must be made immediately.







The flydubai fare includes all taxes and a 7 kg hand baggage allowance. You may only carry one piece of Unchecked Baggage (56 cm x 45 cm x 25 cm) not exceeding 7kg free of extra charge, together with one small laptop bag or small ladies handbag. If your Unchecked Baggage exceeds those dimensions or that weight or is considered unsafe for any reason, you must check it as Checked Baggage and pay any excess baggage charges which may be applicable.  All Checked Baggage must be pre-purchased or paid at the airport. Each item or piece must not weigh more than 32 kg and the dimensions must not exceed 75 cm x 55 cm x 35 cm. 
flydubai routes: One can now flydubai to Abha, Aleppo, Alexandria, Amman, Ashgabat, Assiut, Bahrain, Baku, Beirut, Colombo, Damascus, Djibouti, Doha, Erbil, Istanbul, Kabul, Karachi, Kathmandu, Khartoum, Kuwait, Latakia, Lucknow, Luxor, Muscat, Samara, Sulaimaniyah, Yekaterinburg and Yerevan.
The flydubai network will expand rapidly. You'll soon be able to flydubai to other cities and destinations in the region.
flydubai planes: flydubai ordered 54 Next-Generation 737-800 aircraft from Boeing. The single-aisle aircraft, with 189 economy class seats, has a flying range of just over five hours. It also ordered CFM56-7B engines from CFM International and blended winglets from Aviation Partners Boeing (APB).  With the winglets, flydubai's 737s consume less fuel and emit less noise. Put together with the reductions in emissions offered by the engines, flydubai's 737s are among the most environmentally-friendly aircraft flying today.
