UAE celebrated its 40th years on 2nd December with full of enthusiasm and joy

Prior to independence in 1971, the UAE was known as the Trucial States or Trucial Oman, in reference to a 19th-century truce between the local sheikhs, hereditary rulers of the territories, and the United Kingdom. The term Pirate Coast was also used by some to refer to the emirates from the 18th to the early 20th century, owing to the preponderance of pirates operating from Emirati ports.
The rulers of the emirates, let by the UAE's founding father, the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, decided to form a federation, to work together to bring prosperity and development to their people.
The United Arab Emirates, abbreviated as the UAE, or shortened to "the Emirates", is a state situated in the southeast of the Arabian Peninsula in Western Asia on the Persian Gulf, bordering Oman, and Saudi Arabia, and sharing sea borders with Iraq, Kuwait, Bahrain, Qatar, and Iran.
The UAE is a federation of seven emirates (equivalent to principalities), each governed by a hereditary emir, with a single national president. The capital is Abu Dhabi, and the constituent emirates are Abu Dhabi, Ajman, Dubai, Fujairah, Ras al-Khaimah, Sharjah, and Umm al-Quwain.

Presidents, His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the Vice President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, their fellow members of the UAE's Supreme Council of Rulers and the Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces and His Highness Sheikh Mohammad bin Zayed Al Nahyan led the nation towards greater socio-economic prosperity, social integration and political harmony.
So December in the UAE has a national importance and symbolises the colours of the unity; the colours of the patriotic spirit — red, green, white and black — were proudly raised and were seen on cars, buildings, houses and organisations in the past week.
Presently, name of rulers of different states of UAE are as:

Ruler of Dubai: Sheikh Mohammed (succeeded his elder brother Sheikh Maktoum as ruler of Dubai in January 2006, and was elected to take his place as the UAE's federal prime minister.)
